Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph and film a truly special day at an eco-therapy farm—a space rooted in healing, nature, and connection. My role was to document the essence of the experience, from peaceful moments to joyful interactions, creating a visual narrative that reflects the farm’s holistic offerings and natural beauty.
The day began with the soft morning light filtering through the trees, perfectly highlighting the farm’s newest feature—a stunning Mongolian yurt. With its earthy textures and handcrafted details, the yurt served as both a visual centrepiece and a symbol of grounded serenity. Adjacent to it, the newly built wood-fired sauna offered a tranquil retreat, its warmth and rustic charm contrasting beautifully with the crisp outdoor air.
Throughout the day, I captured scenes from a variety of therapeutic and recreational activities. Equine therapy sessions unfolded with quiet power—images of participants connecting with the horses spoke volumes about trust, calm, and emotional healing. As the afternoon sun warmed the fields, families gathered to feed and play with pigs, their laughter echoing through the farm. I made sure to photograph these unscripted moments of joy and connection—muddy hands, smiling faces, and the curious snouts of the pigs all telling their own part of the story.
The ferret interaction offered a more playful, curious energy, with children and adults alike engaging gently with these energetic little animals. The spontaneity of these encounters brought a fun and light-hearted rhythm to the shoot.
In between structured activities, I filmed nature walks through the surrounding woodlands—capturing participants immersed in silence, soaking in the sounds of birdsong and rustling leaves. These moments allowed for cinematic, meditative footage that will become key elements in the final video.
Later, in the open field, participants rolled out their mats for an outdoor yoga session, set against the backdrop of sweeping skies and golden light. Nearby, the Zen Den—a stretch tent designed for inner work and group practices—hosted a calming clay workshop where hands moulded earth into art, grounding everyone in tactile creativity. As the day drew to a close, I filmed the final session: a sound bath within the Zen Den, where gongs, singing bowls, and ambient tones created a deeply soothing atmosphere. The play of shadows and the gentle movement of the tent in the breeze made for striking visuals.
This shoot was more than just a documentation of a day’s events—it was an opportunity to visually honour a space dedicated to healing, community, and nature. Every frame was crafted to reflect not just what was happening, but how it felt to be there.
If you’re looking to showcase the soul of your wellness or eco-focused space through film and photography, I’d love to help you tell that story.
